Or, you need to lift the keyboard and see if the connector has come loose.

Now, as for that battery situation: Look inside the battery bay, are all four
copper leads showing in exactly the same position? If yes then reset your power
manager. If you still get nothing, perhaps a new battery is in order.

If any of the pins are bent however (not all in the same plane), then carefully
pry them back into formation (they break easy) since they are not making good
battery contact. If the pins are broken, then it's probably not worth the
expense to fix.
