If you're anywhere on the East Coast, you can also have the fuse replaced by
Paul Vail--one of our regular contributors on this list ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
and certified by the Mac2400 page--in North Carolina. It costs just a bit
more (he charges $85 per hour, plus parts; this, he tells me, is basically a
$5 fuse) but it's well worth it. I just had my 2400c repaired by him for the
same problem--good battery not recognized by 2400c (the "red X of
power-manager death"), despite all the resets in the world. I took the
opportunity to have the PRAM battery replaced as well by Paul, who runs
AfterHours Consulting. Great, fast service and good communication.

Cheers
Jose (in Norwich, UK)

Just the fuse was replaced. It was about $50 CDN with parts and labour.
