I disconnected the adapter from its power cord and carried the laptop
(with the adapter plugged into it) across the room to another power
cord (the cord plugs into an APC Notebook Pro surge protector, the
actual a/c adapter is plugged into that.) The machine was asleep at
the time.
Now, I believe I have done this before without any problems, but I
don't know that. I wonder what would happen if one were to jump the
fuse instead of replacing it. (Seriously, what does it protect?)
