Yes. The Andrea MC-100 raises the mic output to line level. That allows a
PC-style headset work with the PB 2400.

The Mac PB2400 accepts a standard microphone input plug. It is unlike other
Macs. Other Macs accept a larger, non-standard mike input plug. I also think
that the reason for the non-standard plug is the non-2400 Macs supply power
to the mic via this non-standard plug. This is why the Andrea person might
have told you their PC-style mics would not work with Macs.

The Andrea NC-71 mic ships with IBM ViaVoice for the Mac and has the larger,
non-standard Mac mic plug. Since it has the larger mic plug, it will not
work on the PB2400.

To make a PC-style mic work on a desktop Mac you need Griffin Technology's
NE Mic Universal Macintosh Audio Adapter (www.griffintechnology.com).

I like to use the PC-style Labtec LV-7370 collar mic (with a PC-style
standard plug) for ViaVoice. Therefore I use the Andrea MC-100 adapter to
plug this mic into my PB2400 and Griffin's NE Mic adapter to use this mic
with my desktop machine at work.
