Sorry, I seem to have left out a couple of details.

I'm hooked up to a cable modem with Shaw (a Canadian provider) and it seems
to be working well. I've got my b&w G3, pb2400c and 7100/66 hooked up to it.
The TCP/IP control panel is set to the "Using DHCP Server".

My three macs are plugged into an Asante 5-port ethernet hub which is
plugged into the cable modem. I have plugged each mac into the modem
separately and that has worked as well. And you need to have an ethernet
card (I have a GV combo card) to connect to the cable modem ... at least the
ones we have require that.

My only complaint is that the majority of spam seems to be coming through my
@home email address which I've never used except to complain to Shaw about
the spam.
