FWIW, MCE has been using the Hitachi drives, and apparently prefers
them somewhat over the IBM. Both have a three year warranty and the
Hitachi's do seem to run quieter. That at least broadens your market
a bit. Users on this list are using both successfully.
The GT series is the 12.7mm model...and works in the PB 2400.

Don't worry about it. Buy the biggest HD you can rationalize. It's
only an issue if you really need SCSI Mode. Sidney and Tom recently
provided two great postings on this topic...probably telling you more
than you need to know, but if you want I can send them to you.
