Bear in mind that problems with the battery may not be problems with
the cells inside the case. The 2400's battery, apparently like all
Li-ion batts, has a serious computer in its case to ensure against
overcharging causing serious trouble, etc. When I had my cells
replaced, the battery still wouldn't hold a charge; the culprit
apparently was the circuitry, not the cells. I'm not aware of a market
in the circuitry, or info as to whether it has PRAM memory that could
be reset, or other possible issues with mating new cells to a possibly
bad circuit board.

Lots of expense, hassle and time later, I bought a new battery. Thanks
to the vendor who sold me the cells as a package "fix" for handling the
snafu honorably, but it was still a big waste of time.
