This could be Howard�s End <G>

There is no such �reset� switch and I agree that you likely should ZAP your PRAM.  
TechTool would be the best way. . better than Mac�s internal way . . of doing it.

. . .THAT could do it for you. What does it say in �About this Computer� under the 
Apple Logo in the Menu Bar? Does it list any RAM at all? Maybe you were cheated.
