The clicking sound coming from your dock is a failing/failed power supply -
only solution is to replace the power supply with a new one (they're not too
expensive).

The stuck book is a bugger - it's of course stuck because the power supply
in the dock is dead and therefore said dock - much as it would love to
oblige - can't respond to your frenzied pressing of the eject button. Look
along the left side of the dock, you'll see a small slot with a key symbol
and the word "eject", this is your manual eject slot (same principle as the
little hole you get on a floppy drive) - poke something in there (a key I
guess - you could use the one that comes with the dock if you have it) and
the book should emerge.

With regard to the problem with the 'book, try resetting the power manager
(I think that's what it's called) - take out the battery, disconnect the ac
lead, then hold down the power button at the rear of the powerbook (not the
one above the keyboard) for ten seconds. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Good Luck!
