I know two people with 5300's, and both of them are down for the count, and
if their opinion, not worth repairing once again. If you can live with the
speed difference, buy a 280c. Mine runs everything I need it to, except some
PPC reliant programs, and it runs them good enough for most peoples needs. I
run Photoshop, Pagemaker and Illustrator on mine and they all work just
fine. I only purchased a 2400c (yes I have a G3 upgrade) in order to run
Golive for the Web work that I do, and because it looks nicer than the Duo.
I could have a faster Pizmo, which does things my 2400c won't do, but how
fast can you type and I can't afford the extra seat on the airplane, just
for my laptop!
