Good evening, I am a newbie to this list, so feel free to wallop me if I inadvertantly flaunt some list conventions... Anyway, I have a duo 2300c, an upgraded 270c (to 2300c) and a 230. (It's a long story, they won't all be with me for long...) I also have a Hard Drive from a Wallstreet G3. I want to put the wallstreet drive in the 2300, the 2300 drive in the 270c, and the 270c drive in the 230. This seems easy enough, just crack open the cases and go, right? No! 1.) The Wallstreet drive works great in the 2300, but the mounting brackets don't fit it, and drilling won't solve the problem.(the holes are to far apart) How can I mount this HD in the 2300? Double-sided tape? (sounds like a bad idea to me...)Somebody mentioned on dealchat that APS used to manufacture brackets, but they no longer do. 2.) the upgraded 270c can accept the 2300's IDE drive, but I don't have the correct cable. Anyone know of someone still selling these? 3.) Would anyone be interested in a 230MB ish or 120 Mb SCSI 2.5" drive? 4.) how about the 270c upgraded to 2300? (16MB RAM, HD TBA)(If so, please respond via private e-mail....) Any help appreciated, I will be trekking to the hardware store to find dome sort of a jury-rig setup if all else fails. I'll let everyone know if I make it work... Tom ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
