After having 8.6 installed for a good 8 months without too much maintenance, I would get the same symptom periodically. What processes are running when you sleep it? Do you have the ability to view hidden processes? If not, type the following in Script Editor Tell app "Finder" to get name of processes Make sure the Result window is visible.
