Of course,... at least (looking at the man page) one can create a subtitle 
menu and there is a special subpicture tag to specify the language... 
AFAIK the subtitles have to be generated (from various textfiles or images) 
and multiplexed into the MPEG-PS by 'spumux'.

Yepp,... just saw on the spumux man page that it accepts 10 different text 
file formats... beside PNG/BMP-pictures... ;-)

I have the feeling that every country in the world uses a different approach
for having subtitles with DVB... so we should stick with cutting the stream 
and writing it out as it is.
