Normally this is so.  However, it is not so if the group has been
configured to turn email addresses into [EMAIL PROTECTED] (as you
can see from my " ... writes:" line above).

When this configuration option is removed, the email addresses will
still be trivially obscured in the web interface ("@" => " <at> "),
but they will come through unaltered in the newsgroup interface.
