I just pushed a change to dvc-rename; it now supports '--bookkeep-only' for mtn.
In mtn, '--bookkeep-only' is used when the user has already renamed the file in the filesystem, and is just telling mtn about it. I think that's the same as bzr and xhg '--after', but the bzr help doesn't say, and I don't have hg installed. I'm working on a nice user interface for this; in a status buffer, a renamed file shows up as a 'missing' and an 'unknown'.
