Long term, we're looking to completely gut the FAQ system and rebuild it from scratch. When we do that, making sure that it's set up so that information can be easily found will be a priority, and a decent search function will probably be a part of that. We're not likely to beef up the search function on the current FAQ system though, since that work would be wasted when we came to do the redesign. We don't have a timeframe on this yet, but obviously, it's a lower priority than a lot of other tasks, like getting the site up and running. For now, our priority with documentation is going to be with the content rather than any sort of technical side. Within the current system, we want to write things such that the information is as accessible as possible, and we think that we've come up with a decent way of doing this that will avoid some of the information overload problem that LJ's FAQ suffers from. Essentially, we're looking to separate out the quick answers to basic questions from the "Everything you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask" type answers. We're still very much a work in progress at this point, but we are very conscious of some of the problems with LJ's docs and are lookign to avoid repeating them. -- rho (monkey in charge of documentation) _______________________________________________ dw-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dwscoalition.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dw-discuss
