Yes, but that doesn't solve the issue of communities that require full birthdate display for approval of membership.
What would be really nice is, instead of a 'checkbox' or something the user inputs manually (to prevent those not of age checking the box when they're not 'of age'); is something that will do an automatic calculation given entered birthdate information and flagging that way somehow. I don't know how complex or simple or whatever this type of thing would be, but it could be useful. Obviously, it doesn't prevent someone from inputing a false year, but I believe in the TOS it states that doing so can be grounds for removal from the service.
