I bet there are living, individual users who wouldn't want their birthdays
broadcast, either -- some people don't celebrate birthdays.

Maybe a ticky-box in the account settings? "[ ] Don't send birthday
notifications to other users." Webcomic artists, icon artists who have
separate icon journals, caretakers of memorial accounts, etc. could just go
in and check the tickybox, without having to switch the journal to a
different account type.
