I read the wiki page on mobile-device access, but I wanted to clarify a few things:
- Currently, LJ has livejournal.com/mobile/ which is actually quite a handy way to make short posts and read one's flist. Will Dreamwidth have something like this at launch? - The wiki page talks about detecting mobile browsers, but might it be simpler to create a mobile app or mobile browser add-on that simply imposes format=light over all dw pages? I'm only slightly web-techy, so I'm not sure which would be simpler. MySpace Mobile would be an example of this sort of thing -- it's a Java app that gives you access to your profile, your friends' profiles, messaging, blog posts, etc. - Is there a way to force your flist into a sort of format=light scheme? I mentioned that I use /mobile/ and it's great for reading my flist, but it's only great for reading my base flist -- not any of my flist filters. If I want to read tacky_tramp.livejournal.com/friends/comms, I'm back to panning like crazy. As far as I know, the only way to change how my flist looks is to change how my journal looks, and while I'd love a lightly formatted flist, I want my journal to be pretty. I've always thought it was a bit weird that I see my flist in my journal style anyway. - Is there a timeline for mobile solutions, or is it just sitting on the wishlist? Thanks! - tacky_tramp _______________________________________________ dw-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dwscoalition.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dw-discuss
