Dammit, forgot the Reply-All. Sorry Harold.

There's been talk about letting OpenID users "upgrade" to real
accounts, so that comments previously made as someopenid.somesite.com
would mutate into comments by someuser when that person got a real
account, allowing them to manage their old OpenID comments in that
way. Or to put it another way, you can associate an OpenID account
(or multiple OpenID accounts) with a "real" user in a hub-spoke
arrangement.

Could community importing be assisted by similar mechanisms? For
instance: when importing a community, look at each OpenID user and see
if that account is associated with a "real" account on DW. If so,
import under that real person's username.

For small communities where all members have migrated, this would work
fine. For larger communities, you would get a partial import, but you
could re-import regularly as people are encouraged to move across.
