Just my two cents here, but LoudTwitter allows for the placement of text at the beginning of a post, which includes being able to put an LJ cut. It also allows the option of hiding @ replies. That's how I have mine set up, so all people see on their friends list is a LJ-cut that says "my daily tweets", and none of my @ replies are posted. That right there eliminates the two biggest compaints I'm seeing about the service.
How about you tell your friends who use loudtwitter about these features? I think that would be a LOT easier than trying to output more code for a feature that doesn't necessarily need to exist. -L
