I want to share my dx experience with you guys in the U.S. who still need 3B7C on 40 meters.

I need 3B7C on 40 so I had been listening on 40 during the evening hours. Signal level at this normally hot QTH (1.5 miles from the Atlantic and adjacent to a marsh land) had been nil or marginal most of the time.

This morning at 12:09 UTC I tuned to 7022 and I heard 25 up. I made one call and he came back and made a good QSO.

I looked at W6EL propagation chart I made previously for this circuit and sure enough there was a long-path opening predicted for 12:30 UTC.

Looks like it is worth it to look at long-path propagation while there was no short-path propagation predicted.

For 40 meter I am using a AV640 vertical (10ft above ground) with 500 watts of RF.
