Yep, I know colonialism, being an American (which were colonies). However, there is a huge difference from either 1. dominating another country by force or intrigue or 2. coming in briefly and then departing fast with goodies..... compared to my life. I live in Thailand, not a visit, and I pay Thai taxes, educate Thai students here, and respect (and join in) Thai culture and traditions. I have also not slaughtered any Indians (native Americans) nor their equivalent when I moved in here (unlike early American history).
