My first protection when viewing new email is to not even download mails
without a subject from the server but deleting them there immediately.
Perhaps sometimes I´ll miss a thing using this "human filter" but I think that´s 
worth it.

BTW I keep up this practice also with mails (from reflectors) where the subject 
does not clearly explain the intention of the sender. Sometimes it´s not even 
clear if it´s a question, an announcement or whatever else. A short but precise 
definition in the subject line surely helps to spread your message to more 
readers.
