Actually Ken, I'd say that electronic copies are probably safer in the 
long run... providing you take the proper precautions.

You can easily and cheaply make multiple copies of your electronic logs 
  and keep them all over the place -- something that would be 
impractical with paper logs, particuarly large logs.
