Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Using Telnet

Yes I am talking about DX4WIN (ver 7.04).

Some years ago when DX4WIN first allowed getting Internet spots, I followed
some instructions for making it work. They involved using the RTTY window.

I do not use RTTY at my station, but I have my Preferences for RTTY set to
Type=Regular and Port=TCP/IP. When I go to the RTTY window, right click to get the popup, Internet connection is one of the options. This gets me spots in the
Packet window. Try it.

I see now that I can also get the Internet connection option from the popup in the Packet window, but I have just continued using my original way of getting
spots activated via the RTTY window.

Are you sure you're talking about DX4WIN and not some other program,
like Writelog? The RTTY window in DX4WIN has nothing to do with packet.

The RTTY window layout *may* resemble the packet window, but the RTTY
window says "RTTY" at the top, and the Packet Window says "Packet
Window" at the top.

If you can send me some screen captures, I might be able to understand
what you think you see.
