That's the .DXQ file format. In my experience, WordPad (not Notepad) 
does a fine job with search and replace with these files, but I'm 
sure there are lots of third-party text editors that would be more 
powerful. The problem with the LOTW: stuff is that the text in each 
record is unique, so a straight search and replace won't work. I'm 
not aware of a text editor with a search and replace function that 
can find "LOTW: <arbitrary text of unknown length>" and replace the 
entire string with a blank. Do you know of any that can do this?
