I use group 0 zero for all contacts in the fiel, then I have
groups for different QTHs and calls as well for thé other
stations I mange. I normally haf 0 as default group in
preferences, to be sure I do not mix groups. Since I use
N1MM as contest program I import either as ADIF or text
file. I import them to the log as group number zero. When I
checked taht al seems OK I change the groupnumber as a
multiple QSO operation. and save it. I have not tested this
in v8. But muy main poit is that you should not use 0 to
anything else than the default all QSOs (in the file).
