Mel,

I did a ton of testing off-list with Guy, Paul, and Jim and reported 
pretty much all of the info that you've mentioned, as well as doing 
low-level traces showing the actual calls to the OS to manipulate the 
status of the control lines.. As Guy said, the tough part is that 
neither Guy nor Paul can reproduce the issue which makes it difficult to 
troubleshoot. I don't want to flood the list with reports, but I do 
agree that it would make sense for folks who are having the issue to 
report in so that maybe some kind of pattern can be found.
