Hi Jim, Grid boundaries are allowed, but the rules are a bit excessive (my opinion). See http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Awards%20Application%20Forms/VUCCRULE1a.pdf . I did this a couple times last summer and actually posted little movies of my set up and zooming in to the GPS showing the XX.000 display. Of course, by the time you set up, the GPS location is different, but that's just me whining. Grid boundaries are not allowed in the ARRL VHF contest - you can only exchange 1 grid.
