Hi Alan, Sorry I didn't reply sooner - I missed it when it first came in and a bunch of others caused it to scroll way down to another page. Well, I tried putting various numbers into the "Missing Labels" box with various results. If I put 0 in there, it prints a label and scrolls to the bottom 11" down. If I put 1 in there, it scrolls down 1, prints, then scrolls to the bottom of the 11" page. If I put 11 in there, it scrolls down 11", prints, then scrolls another 11". I don't need/want it to scroll anywhere, period. I merely want a choice to print a label and line feed to where the next label would start, then STOP. Perhaps, if the program wouldn't issue a Form Feed after printing a single label and the Missing Labels was set to 0, it would work. (???) I've ruined so many labels already playing around with different options. And, if I send it to my tractor feed line printer I get the same results and waste lots of sheets of paper. (Darn Form Feed!) Until I get some kind of actual fix, I'm just going to go back to my old DOS computer and DXBase 4.5 and print the one or two labels or addresses I need. Thanks for the suggestions. If I give up on ever using the tractor feed label printer and use my inkjet printer, I'll try your suggestions there. 73 & MX, Bob K8BL P.S. I used your suggestions with my inkjet printer and was able to put labels anywhere I wanted on plain paper by adjusting measurements with the Custom 1 formatter option. :O) --- On Fri, 12/17/10, ALAN ZACK <k7...@cox.net> wrote:

In the label print window there is a box MISSING LABELS. So let's say you have a sheet of labels that you have already printed 5 labels from. So you put 5 in the missing labels box and it will start with the 6th label which should be the first blank label on your partly used page. I use type 8160 labels, 2 5/8 inch long and 1 inch high. They fit FB on my QSL cards. My only problem is the latest version 8.04 does not remember my preferred settings as previous versions did. It always goes to the default of PRINT QSL MANAGER LABEL, PRINT VIA MANAGER, PRINT METHOD LABEL being selected and PRINT GROUP NAME not being selected. I always change it to PRINT METHOD LABEL being deselected and PRINT GROUP NAMES being selected but it won't remember these settings. Anyone else have a problem with this?? -----Original Message----- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of R.T.Liddy Sent: Thursday, December 16, 2010 1:43 PM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] Label Printing Hi All, Just installed DX4WIN and am trying to learn its many features. I've run into a couple problems that I can't find discussed in the Help files. I'll deal with them one at a time so as not to get too confusing. Labels: I don't often print more than a few labels. Many times it's just one to respond to an incoming QSL. I can see how to do sheets of labels on my inkjet printer but can't imagine doing that many (a sheetfull). I have an old tractor feed printer where I printed my labels from my previous logging program. It's merely one across. The labels are 3 1/2 in. X 15/16 in. They are also known as Avery 4013 style. I've tried numerous setups in the Label Editor and can get a label to print OK. BUT, after it prints the label it appears a Form Feed is sent to the printer because it feeds out a whole page length of labels. That's a real waste of a lot of labels since rolling them back peels them off and makes a mess. I tried Custom5 and set the Page Width to 3 1/2 and the Page Height to 1.0, but it still feeds out like an 11" sheet. I set them to Zero and I still get a form feed to 11". There is a choice for Label Name 4013, but it still feeds out like an 11" Form Feed. Any suggestions?
