If you use any of Microham's USB enabled units (CW keyers, TNC, rig
controllers...) this functionality is built in.

You can have two virtual serial ports (e.g. COM1, COM2) in your PC/Mac
with a single CAT interface.
Running DX4Win and e.g. fldigi or even HRD in parallel works fine.
