Hi Mike, Problem solved....
Yes, I am importing the adif file from WSJT-X directly into DX4WIN using the ADIF import filter. Works great. Mode is correct. Signal reports now are correct. The only problem is the Comments field from WSJT-X goes into the Notes for this Call field. For example, after an import I will typically see the following in the Notes for this Call field: FT8 Sent: -08 Rcvd: -02 But I just solved the problem by simply unchecking the "db reports to comments" option under the reporting tab of settings in WSJT-X. This used to be an important way to store mode and signal report data when the prior versions of DX4WIN did not accept FT8 as a mode. But now there is no need to retain this info since it is being imported properly into DX4WIN. By turning that option off, nothing goes in the Comments field in WSJT-X and thus nothing gets imported into the Notes for this Call field in DX4WIN. Simple workaround. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth. Hi, hi Now back to working DX... Make sure FT8 is enabled as a mode: File > Preferences > Station > Modes Make sure you have FT8 selected as a valid mode for any awards you chase: File > Awards > Valid Modes In WSJT-X, do NOT check Convert Mode to RTTY or dB Report to Comments in File > Settings > Reporting. Now, you should (should being the operative word here!) be able to import your WSJT-X file directly, have the mode appear correctly, and have the signal reports appear in the proper fields. If you are not logging the QSOs directly in DX4WIN, and simply importing the WSJT-X adif file, it should (there's that should word, again) not matter what radio you are using, or whether your radio uses SSB or Data mode to work the digi modes. -- 73, Mike Cizek WØVTT -----Original Message----- From: n...@vci.net [mailto:n...@vci.net] Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2017 14:24 To: 'Mike Cizek W0VTT'; 'Wes Printz W3SE / ZL3TE'; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: RE: [Dx4win] How to change mapping for FT8 Hi Mike. I would like DX4WIN to be able to map the Remarks field to the Notes for this QSO field without any manual manipulation of the ADIF file. It would make importing of WSJT-X files a snap. I thought DX4WIN has a way to remap imports.
