Yep, there are a few ways someone could do it. I just think it would be hard
to find the notes when they are inside random QSO records. In a paper log I
would add it to the middle of the row with blanks top/bottom. Then a quick
scan through the logs finds the notes. I can see using personal call and then
search your own call for the “station notes”.

hmm....that's EXACTLY what I do with Notes for this QSO. New antenna.....make a
note there...when I make my first contact with that new antenna. New
mic....make a note on the QSO(s) with the new mic. Country deleted.....make a
note there (on that country that I just worked that got deleted...), etc, etc.
So I guess I'm still missing the point, as you say. No problem though, it works
just fine for me.....so I don't have any issues. Hope others figure out
something that works for them. It works perfectly to make "non-QSO" related
notes as is....for me. I guess I'll consider myself lucky!

Tom meant non-QSO related notes (e.g., raised dipole to 60', new TS-990, new
amp, North Korea added to deleted countries, etc.). QSO related notes are easy.

I liked someone's idea about logging yourself and using that for personal
station notes. I actually still have a paper log handy where all it is used
for now is station notes. I should just use a notebook and can then file a lot
of stuff in there with the notes. I have heard that recommended before but
have not implemented (is it too late?).

I might be missing your point....but there aere already two fields in the QSO
window for each QSO made. Notes for this QSO and Notes for this Call (if I
remember correctly, I don't have the program loaded on this computer). So are
you talking about some other kind of comments? I use them frequently. When I
work someone with the same radio as me, I'll put a comment in the QSO in one of
those fields. When I get a new radio, I add comments like "first 6 meter
contact on new FT991A"....or "he's using same microphone as me"....and on and
on, etc, etc.

So are you talking about something different? Because there are already TWO
comment fields as the software already is. So I'm a bit confused what you are
asking for....is it something different....
