I read in microham reflector this

"It appears that Yaesu have broken the CAT firmware in their
most recent firmware update to the FTdx101.  The "get mode"
command (MD#;) now returns an error response.

This "bug" (or undocumented change) breaks compatibility with
all microHAM "keyer" interfaces and may impact all of your
logging/contest software.

*DO NOT* Update your FTdx101 firmware until this issue has been
resolved."

Is possible to be this your problem? Have you updated to the last firmware version?

John -- If your DX4WIN correctly sets the mode for other radios but not the
FTDX101, I suspect the rig file you have is the problem. There are no menu
settings in the FTDX101 that would cause this symptom.

Replace your rig file in the RADIOS folder with the Yaesu FTdx101 file from
the AD1C site -- http://dx4win.ad1c.us/radios/index.html.
