Wes, you also need to mark the "Select Marked QSO Records" in the Awards window. This is the same problem I had. You should also make sure you do not have any QSO's for the same country marked in the Select field. If you do have one marked that also meets the Awards criteria on which you are working, then the Selected cards will be pick over the card for which you have DXCC credit. QSO's marked Select take preference over all other QSO's!
If you do not mark the "Select Marked QSO Records", DXBase thinks you are creating a new award for scratch! 73....Stewart, W0SHL -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wes (N7WS) and Linda Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 11:47 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [DXBase] Georgia on My Mind A coupla things. I have a QSL from UF6DF for a QSO on 11-20-1979 for which I have DXCC credit. In doing some record checking I noted that when performing a "Mixed DXCC Award", UF6DL did not appear in the listing, but a QSO with 4L8A did. In snooping around, I discovered that UF6D was not correctly mapped to 4L. So I did the mapping in the Prefix database and changed the log entry manually to set the logged prefix to 4L. In the award column, DXCC is checked and "Exclude Past Submissions" is unchecked in the DXCC Award window. I figured this would correct the award listing accordingly. Wrong. Nothing changed; 4L8A is still my Georgia selection. So I took a look at some other "old" QSOs for which I have DXCC credit and find a similar problem. Reading the help file I see: "If a QSO has been marked as "credited" under the ARRL field, then this QSO is considered to be already on record at the ARRL. Therefore, DXbase will NOT select another QSO for award submission for the same criteria that was already satisfied by the previous submission." Since there is no "ARRL Field" I assume this means "Award" field and a check in the "DXCC" box means "credited". The help file goes on: "Some award categories only accept QSOs that were made after a certain date. DXbase has internal logic that knows about these and it will not select a QSO does not meet this rule." In the case of all-band, mixed mode, these two statements seem to conflict. So I'm guessing that this logic is figuring (incorrectly) that I am trying to create a single-band award, for which these old QSOs are ineligible. How can I correct this and have a complete printout of actual QSOs credited and QSOs confirmed that are awaiting submission? I vaguely remember something along this line being discussed before but a check of my local archives comes up empty. 73, Wes _______________________________________________ DXBase Reflector - Please visit us on the web at www.dxbase.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To UNSUBSCRIBE please visit: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase
