Hi Wes, When DXbase automatically makes selections on its own, it does what we call a binary search of the database. This is a very fast method that does not pay any attention to the date of the QSO or when it was entered or anything like that. It simply looks for an eligible QSO and when it finds one, its happy... <g>. If you want to have some say in what gets selected, then mark the Select field in the QSO record in the DXCC box, and then when running the award, select the option to Use Marked QSOs. Otherwise, DXbase will make the selections for you.
The only exception to this logic is if you have marked a QSO note field that the QSL card has a picture of a pretty YL on it, DXbase will of course select that one over all others regardless of anything else. <g> Jack ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wes (N7WS) and Linda" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Jack" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 9:02 PM Subject: Re: [DXBase] Georgia on My Mind > Jack replied privately to this (not sure why not to the reflector) and > clarified some things.
