you didn't say which radio it is...
but you may try going to the 'radio'.ini for your radio and changing the
'pacing'
I think that's what it's called.
I had a similar problem and speeding up the pacing cured it.

It seems like every time I bring up DXB and I click on a DX spot on the
internet cluster that DXB always comes back that it can't talk to the radio,
do I want to turn that option off.  I always click "No" and the radio
changes freq.  After that first time it works every time after that.  Is DXB
"giving up" to quickly on the connection?

Just wondering.
