This sounds like that DXbase does not clear COMx buffer during
intializing.

you didn't say which radio it is...
but you may try going to the 'radio'.ini for your radio and changing the
'pacing' I think that's what it's called. I had a similar problem and
speeding up the pacing cured it.

It seems like every time I bring up DXB and I click on a DX spot on the
internet cluster that DXB always comes back that it can't talk to the
radio, do I want to turn that option off.  I always click "No" and the
radio changes freq.  After that first time it works every time after
that.  Is DXB "giving up" to quickly on the connection?

Just wondering.
