I just tried it on many cluster spots.
I set the filter on my FT1000Mp to 2.4 slot.
Repeatedly clicked on cw cluster spots on different bands.
Not one time did the qsy effect which filter I had selected.

I even tried from ssb qrg to a cw cluster.
Filter selection stayed the way I had it set prior to the cluster qsy.

admittedly, this is a MP and yours is a D.
vaguely I remember a MP menu setting that automatically selected filters...
could that be it?

switches to the 500Hz filter from the 2.4K filter. Is there a way to
prevent this? I use the filters extensivley but if the spotted frequency
is off a little then you don't hear the station until you select one of the
other filters.
