Ed, There are a lot of new issues that must be considered before the ARRL's ADIF file support can be implemented. There was no consultation between the ARRL folks and the makers of logging software prior to the release of this feature. Perhaps none was really necessary but I'm not sure.
In any case, change is a way of life and sometimes it's easy to adapt and sometimes it requires extensive effort. At the moment, it's just something else to consider for the future. Our biggest concern at the moment centers around the date/time of the Qs that come from LOTW. What if the time of a Q coming from LOTW is say 1230, but in your log, you have the Q listed as 1231? The Q coming from LOTW would be considered a new Q in your log and not a dupe, but in actuallity, it should be the same Q. This is just one of many issues that require some thought before we jump into code development. I don't plan to engage in any lengthy discussions about this now. There is a lot to think about. But we will begin scoping out the issues and follow the path where it leads. I had 460 QSLs. I got 281 errors and 179 records loaded. Then I checked in DxBase. It shows that the 179 records that got loaded, BUT that they are confirmed by CARD, not by LoTW or BOTH. How does the ADIF file tell DxBase that the confirmation is via LoTW? The ADIF record is QSLRDATE. DxBase interprets this as receiving a card. Is there a corresponding ADIF field LOTWRDATE? I think that DxBase needs to have an additional column for QSL received via LoTW. Maybe even separate columns for SENT and CONFIRMED status, instead of BOTH. > > At 10/12/03 09:35 AM, Chuck Kraly wrote: > >Here's a new one guys.... > > > >LoTW is giving a report, in ADIF format of all confirmed QSO's in the logs > >you have submitted.
