I had to send my FT1000 MP in for some work and got it back just in time =
for
the CQWW Phone Contest. I thought I'd look for some new band countries, =
so I
hurriedly hooked up everything. I had upgraded my 20003 version of =
DXBase to
the 2004 version recently without incident.

I noticed immediately when I connecting the dialup internet and opened =
the
window that something was not right. The packet spots were, of course =
coming
through quickly but the computer didn't seem to be able to update itself
quickly enough.

The window that shows past QSO's began to show past qso's of two =
different
stations at the same time! While receiving a new spot which was very =
often
given the contest, all other DXBase functions stopped. If you tried to =
click
on one of the stations that were posted in the window, usually the one =
that
was posted next was sent to the radio. On two occasions, the program =
stopped
working and I had to do the cntrl-alt-del and shut it down.

Since I hadn't deleted my older version 2003, I booted it up to see what =
it
would do. It had no problem. The packet stations were posted quickly and
efficiently.=20

Without the packet up, my DXBase 2004 seems a little slower but I hadn't
noticed this problem before. I am using a Pentium II, 350 MHZ machine =
with
256 Megs of memory and Windows 98 SE.

Since the 2003 version works, it seems like it is probably not a =
computer
problem. I wonder if maybe doing an uninstall/reinstall might help or if
someone might make a suggestion.=20
