Problem solved. Thanks to Jim, K8IR "While TR and Writelog could key CW, DXBase could not. This was on a computer running Windows 98. It only happened using the on-board Serial Port. A plug-in card worked OK. I came up with an interesting solution. If I ran CWType ( http://www.aalog.com/en/products/cwtype/ ) , minimized it, and ran DXBase, then the CW keying was OK out of DXBase. Apparently the drivers loaded for CWType provided whatever was missing with DXBase. This by the way, was with DXBase 2003. "
