And would you believe that the new $10,000 plus IC-7800 also does not 
provide a way to tell that the radio is in Split or Dual-Watch!!!!!  I 
raised hell about this shortcomming in the 756 series, both in person 
with Ray Novak, the ICOM National Sales Manager and also via e-mail.  He 
took note of my comments and forwarded them to the design group in 
Japan.  Now they have done it again!

The Kenwoods, Yaesus, TenTecs provide this function.

The 756ProII is a nice radio, but this really burns me.
