I did not have this problem with YU but my problem is YU5JA Macedonia. Found out later, here on the forum It was just Yugoslovia. The original call that I put in the log was YU5JA 20-05-1990 2350z 20M CW DXbase put it as a YU German Repuplic and not a regular YU for Yugoslovia. There is just something seams to unstable in the Country data base that does not want to sort these out properly.

It flagged YU/OM2RC/P as a new band-mode. I was puzzled, as I have YU confirmed or worked many times. Upon closer examination, DxBase said it was Federal Republic of Germany, or prefix Y (which is deleted). So why did it not see the U of the YU? I typed the call into the QSO field and it again came up with FRG. Did the prefix search stop on the first letter? Okay, so I tried this. I typed in YA/K1EP into the QSO field, fine, prefix is YA. I typed YI/K1EP into the QSO field, fine, prefix is YI. Not that I was intending to go to either place soon. But when I type YU/K1EP into the QSO field, I end up with Y. > > > > ------------------------------ > > Message: 7 > Date: Thu, 19 Aug 2004 17:26:27 -0400 > From: George Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Country Prefixes > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [email protected] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed > > Ed, > My program version does the same thing.
