DX Telnet can send an email or SMS message if a specified call or prefix is
spotted. I haven't used that program for a while, as I prefer VE7CC's
AR-User program to connect to AR-Clusters. Both can be configured as a
front-end to DXbase so that either of those program connects via telnet or
packet to a cluster, and then DXbase (or another logging program) connects
to it.

I did experiment it with the feature when I had my Motorola 2-way text
pager, and it worked OK. Since SMS messages can be sent to a phone as an
email address (required by DX Telnet) it should work. Web sites for more

Subject: [Dxbase] Pager/TXT gateway

Got a question for the assembled braintrust. As I was sitting around this
afternoon waiting for the TJ3 station to grace SSB with his presence, I was
wishing there were a way to get TXT or e-mail notification of all-time new
spots on my cellphone. Essentially, I already have an amazingly good filter
set established, both through my AR cluster connection's settings on a
coarse level and through DXBase for fine.

What I'd really like to see is a subset of "priority" level spots that get
escalated to urgent status and are beamed out to a cell or pager. Anybody
know of a way of doing this? Seems kids and executives are swearing by TXT
messaging -- there's gotta be a way of doing this for DX spotting! Any
ideas?
