I upgrade if the new version offers additional feature(S) that I feel are
beneficial to me. The old DOS version worked for me long after most of you
switched to Windows. When I discovered 6 meters, I had to join the 21 century
because my antique logging program no longer met my award tracking needs. I
have skipped an upgrade or two since then, again because the program in hand was
meeting my needs. Will I purchase Neal's coming version? Yes. One basic reason
is that I want Dxbase to continue. Now that doesn't mean that I am going to
write a check every time there is another update :-) Neal, like Jack, is going
to have to add enough value to the program in each upgrade to convince me to get
out the old credit card. That is way any business works and I am sure Neal has
that built into his business model.
