Unlike in Vista, there's a simple slider control in Windows 7 for the level
of UAC protection you want to have in place. Hit the Windows key (assuming
your keyboard has a Windows key, that is), type UAC and bring up the UAC
controls. Move the slider down to the second-stop-from-the-bottom, selecting
the option to only notify you when a program attempts to make changes to the
computer and not to dim the desktop. I've found that this setting works
nicely in balancing annoyances to me and still keeping my system as secure
as possible.

Hi Al

I personally think you can turn off UAC without any major problems, I think
it causes more problems than it prevents but that is just my opinion. If you
want to keep it, try using the TweakUAC utility which allows you to tune it
(I do not know if it works on Win7, it was written for Vista where it was
really obnoxious). The download link is at http://www.tweak-uac.com/home/

The error message you are seeing is because DXBase thinks you have your log
file at the default location which is C:\Program Files\Scientific
Solutions\DXB2007\. Can you try to open a new database and select where you
have moved your log.

BTW, its not a good idea to store personal data in the Program Files
directory which is something I will change in 2010 for the default location.
