I had better correct myself! I have tested a search on
shop e*gold
against
shop e-gold
and the 'e-gold' works correctly (on www.google.com or on www.ao.com.au),
and therefore better than 'e*gold' which, although it ranks e-gold sites
highly, it also includes sites simply about gold.
To filter out pages like the archives of this list, and others that simply
talk about the idea of an e-gold shop, one simply adds filters as follows:
shop e-gold -news -messages -archive -forum
which reduces the number of search results. I found a number of businesses I
had not been aware of simply from being on this list.

www.ao.com.au for that matter) and it will filter out any search results not
also including words beginning with 'e' and ending with 'gold'. I have not
suggested putting 'e-gold' in there in case it filters out gold, as '-gold'
would do.
