I have Internet Explorer 5.50.4134.0600IC 128-bit, but I had exactly
the same problem, never getting logged in. But I'll try it again! (With
this IE5.5 and Netscape 6.1) Of course I had previously tried
loading it from multiple computers, including a Mac G3 Powerbook
(running OS9 and IE5 for Mac) and Netscape 4.7 on this Win98
machine.

[Tried again!]

I get the passphrase box, but ever since version 2 instead of
getting logged in I am getting an error dialog box (title: Microsoft
Internet Explorer) saying:
Error authenticating with the server -
hushclone.java.security.KeyStoreException:hushclone.java.security
.InvalidKeyException
(button: OK)

Presumably the keys got corrupted in the conversion! It has never
worked since!

Trying it with Netscape 6.1!

Still loading after several minutes!
... More minutes! But the progress bar is halfway across, and the
title bar shows "Hushmail Secure Email Client Version 2 -
Netscape 6" so *some* of it must have loaded!
... Another couple of minutes. I now have the message "Loading
Applet..." ! ... Shortly afterwards. No good!
   "Applet HushEncryptionEngine not inited"
which presumably means it was not initialised!

According to Hushmail's help pages, this is supposed to work in
IE5.5 with the latest Java JIT compiler fix, and even in Netscape
4.75 (with Java). I will have to check my Java engines, but I have
the latest one from Netscape. Java(TM) Plug-in: Version 1.3.0_01
Using JRE version 1.3.0_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM, and the
one supplied with IE5.5, *and* Java console enabled, Java loggin
enabled, and JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled.

This message will be pasted into the Hushmail support form, which
offers support normally to Premium account account holders, but
also to those having trouble with the version 2 changeover. As I
have also not received any notifications of incoming hushmail
messages since the day version 2 launched, I presume that a vast
number of users have not been able to use version 2. One can
hardly upgrade to a premium account without a confidence that one
will be able to use the Hushmail system at all!
